So no my Spanish is not great - okay non-existent may be a better way to describe it. However, I have survived many a trip to Spanish speaking countries using a very cleaver technique. My theory has been proved multiple times and thus far, I have had my wants satisfied. I'll let you in on my secret.... Just add "O" to the end of the word and flail your hands in air with a big smile and it works like a charm. So cheers to Hispanics on their day of freedom (or more accurately stated, to Americans who need another reason to celebrate).
